An Email to Local Ear...

if prayer should be allowed in school, then should not all religions be
allowed in school as well? Is it truly the "Christian" way to force
people
to follow based on laws of the government? Isn't "Christianity" a
choice
that people make, not a set of laws they are forced to follow?

in the light of columbine, is it not true that every person is a
product of
some system? and if so, why would people choose to follow a system that
envokes segregation (homosexuals, and other religions), conservative
government (which means it is not a choice, thus just as invalid as
sinning), and has produced countless murders over the centuries in the
name
of everything from holy land to God "blessing" OUR troops/murders and
OUR
country, as if God would even choose any country to "side with" at all.

If God blesses "our" troops and "our" country, then God should be
blessing
iraq, afghanistan, panama, japan, vietnam, and all the other third
world
countries we have demolished, secondly God is the only one who can
judge
someone, end of discussion. It is not the role of a "christian" to shun
others, it is their responsiblity to accept them with kind generous
open
hearts and minds, allowing them to freely live their lives. Because if
the
"Christian lifestyle" is actually better, then people will recognize
that
and join, there is no "your gonna burn in hell" and blah this blah that
bullshit, it is about accepting and supporting all humans, no matter
what.
to live as the bible truly tells us, because we can only live our lives
as
we choose, and it is no human's role to pass judgement on any
lifestyle,
religion, or morals.

I think by you not supporting Pepsi and its products, you are being
very
selfish as someone under God, maybe in Nevada MO or Salina KS it seems
easy,
but try spending sometime in a big city or foreign country, you will
notice
that not everyone follows your religion, and that is not only OK, it is
awesome. The fact that there is so much diversity is what makes
everything
great, life, sex, pain, exstacy, it is all so great because of the
diversity, and any attempt to force people into a your's or any other
religion/lifestyle is completey and utteryly wrong and un"christian"

i use " " alot because i dont believe, based on what i have read, that
Jesus
wanted a religion named after him, or people to have cross neclasses or
tatooes or have pictures and crucifixes up in their houses and
chruches, he
was far far too humble. I think Jesus was a messenger sent from God to
tell/show us what kind of life to strive for, nothing more. There is no
evidence of Jesus envoking war, pain, death, segregation, envy, hate,
bigotry, boycott, elitism, pride, or any of the countless products of
current religion.

write back, i wanna hear your thoughts

I have to agree with the other comment we are required to share our faith HOWEVER i agree with you that the enforcing of christianity in schools is in fact not a good idea. it has done more damage than good because the word of the lord is being preached by non believers in schools all over the country - this makes it dead and children only rebel against it. I have failed to ever meet someone blessed by a school assembly! Having said that i think mission work in schools can work well - i know of groups who have gone into schools and radically changed the view of kids who have only ever droned out the Lord's Prayer as a chore. groups such as Ignite, the Red CAfe team and many others continue to make their mark by revolutionising the inclusion of christianity in schools. But they are outside sources of strong spirit filled christians and this is the only way forward as the standard assembly remit of government requirements is just another National curriculum tick box strategy and is no longer about religion at all.
