An update from Sweet Willie D

Hi, Blues Fans,

This was a good gig week. We had the usual full house at Mo & Waldo's on Friday, and had several folks jam with us. There was Jeff on a Strat, Kevin on trumpet, Harmonica John, our very good pal, Adrienne Lee on mouth harp, and Debbie on tambourine. No vocalists came forward, so the only break I got was when Fat Daddie sang "Hey, Joe"!!! Fat Daddie, old boy, you'd better keep your day job. Speaking of Fat Daddie's day job, Barb and I just got a new (to us) car through his salesmanship.

Bruce needs to work with Fat Daddie, too, as he broke down we hear, and couldn't be with us on keyboards on Friday or Saturday. We missed you, buddy. And, you missed all the pretty young thangs!! What no one missed were those not ready for primetime jokes of yours!!!!

Saturday we played the blues at Simon's on the Waterfront in Hermann. This is the second gig for us there. I'm telling you, this is a club you want to try to make sometime. The sound system is great. And Ste ve Simon always jams with us. He's a pro guitar man, and has some good licks to prove it. Adrienne and her husband traveled down, and she did a set with us. Of course Steve jammed, and his protege also played with us.

We mixed it up quite a bit that night - Shawn even got a break this gig! Robert brought his bass and I sat in on drums while Simon played lead guitar. It was quite a performance. If you have ever seen Robert play bass, you know it's masterful, as is his lead guitar work. That's how he started playing, and the drums is what I started playing. Lots of Hermann visitors, including a lot of Harley dudes and old ladies, were there. It was a party!!!

Here's the schedule for the rest of May as we're booked right now. Things change, you know, and so has our schedule.
